Wukong And What They’re Used For

Wukong And What They’re Used For

[ad_1]

Black Myth: Wukong contains a wide range of useful items that will aid in the Destined One’s journey. One class of unique items are seeds that can be used in the Zodiac Village to grow the many materials needed to craft Mortal Medicines. There are 15 seed drops in total throughout Black Myth (some drops provide two seeds, though) and collecting them all will award players the Seeds to Sow trophy/achievement.

Unfortunately, these seeds drop randomly, and the timers take thirty minutes to reset once the plant is harvested. For this reason, players should harvest any and all materials they come across as they play to avoid the need for farming later on. Below are a few recommended locations in Black Myth: Wukong to acquire each seed type and a breakdown of what each seed’s material is used to create.

12 Aged & Millennium Ginseng Seed

The First Two-For-One Found From A Singular Seed

The Aged Ginseng Seed and Millenium Ginseng Seed are the first two-for-one found from a singular seed, dropped from Old Ginseng Guai in Chapter 3. The boss can be found near the Towers of Karma shrine in the Valley of Ecstasy by attempting to collect a plant tucked away in an obscure corner of the area.

All Celestial Taiyi Pill Locations In Black Myth: Wukong

Celestial Taiyi Pills are rare items in Black Myth: Wukong that you can collect in various locations to increase your max Mana and cast more spells.

From the shrine, go left toward the sickle weapon enemy and take the path to his right to its terminus to find the plant in front of a statue. Giving this seed to Chen Loong in the Zodiac Village awards both Medicine recipes.

Aged Ginseng is relatively common, purchasable from early in the game, and can be used to craft Amplification Pellets, Loong Aura Amplification Pellets, and Ginseng Pellets, an extremely useful medicine that generates Focus for thirty seconds.

Millennium Ginseng is much harder to come by without the seed, and is needed to craft the Soul Remigration Pill and Enhanced Ginseng Pellets, an upgraded version of the above that grants considerable Focus on use.

11 Celestial Pear Seed

Found By Looking For The Golden Glowing Pears Beginning In Chapter 3

The

Celestial Pear Seed can be farmed from various locations, found by looking for the golden glowing pears hanging on trees beginning in Chapter 3. A good spot to look in the New West for easy-to-access pear trees is near the Brook of Bliss in the Valley of Ecstasy.

Celestial Pears are used to craft Ascension Powder, Body-Fleeting Powder, and Tonifying Decoction, which boosts maximum Stamina for an extended time. Celestial Pears can also be purchased for 240 Will once the Destined One reaches Chapter 3 in the New West.

10 Fire Bellflower Seed

It Can Be Purchased From Shrines For 120 Will

Fire Bellflower Seeds can be farmed most easily in the Woods of Ember in Chapter 5 around the Ashen Pass I shrine, where up to five can be collected, or earlier in the story near the Valley of Despair Shrine at Sandgate Village, where three can be picked up.

Fire Bellflower can be purchased from shrines for 120 Will and is used to craft Body-Warming Powder, the Septenary Heartfire Pill, and is a necessary component for the Life-Saving Pill, a powerful medicine that recovers full health and removes all Four Banes effects.

9 Fire Date Seed

Used To Craft Ascension Powder And The Septenary Heartfire Pill

The

Fire Date Seed will be a later-game pickup as it’s primarily found in the Flaming Mountains. Players can look for the trees growing on lava around the Valley Entrance Shrine in Furnace Valley, where seven Fire Dates can be collected – and eventually the Fire Date Seed. This area contains some tough shielded enemies, but most can be avoided.

The Fire Date is used to craft Ascension Powder, a Legendary Fortifying Medicine that cancels stamina loss for a short time, and the Septenary Heartfire Pill, a Legendary Reassuring Medicine used to instantly reset Cooldowns for all Spells.

8 Fragrant Jade Flower Seed

It Can Be Farmed Every Thirty Minutes

When the Destined One reaches Chapter 4 and comes upon the Estate of Zhu in the Webbed Ridge, a handful of Fragrant Jade Flowers are found in and around the surrounding buildings and can be farmed for the

Fragrant Jade Flower Seed every thirty minutes.

Fragrant Jade Flowers can also be bought from any Keeper’s Shrine for 120 Will and are used in Body-Cooling Powder, an Alleviating Medicine that increases Burn Resistance (and comes in handy against the Chapter 1 final boss), as well as the Longevity and Essence Decoctions.

7 Gentian Seed

Players Can Find Gentian Plants Rather Commonly Throughout The Journey

For the

Gentian Seed, players can find Gentian plants rather commonly throughout the game and as early as Chapter 1, where they are scattered throughout the Forest of Wolves. However, the best farming location for these is near the Brook of Bliss Shrine in the Valley of Ecstasy in Chapter 3, with five Gentian plants available.

Gentian can be purchased early on and is required for Fortifying Medicament and Shock-Quelling Powder, which players will want to utilize against the Chapter 2 final boss as it instantly removes the Shock state and enhances Shock resistance.

6 Golden Lotus Seed

It Must Be Obtained From A Specific Enemy

The

Golden Lotus Seed is unique in that it must be obtained from a specific enemy, the Golden Lotus Guais found in Chapter 3 in the hills around the Warding Temple in the Pagoda Realm. These easily identifiable, worm-like creatures are not very difficult to take down, and doing so can reward the Golden Lotus Seed.

Golden Lotus will be available at Keeper’s Shrines once the Destined One reaches Chapter 3, and it is used to make two Reassuring Medicines, the Life-Saving Pill and the Mirage Pill, giving players a boost to Might for their Transformations.

5 Jade Lotus Seed

Useful For Crafting Medicines Needed In a Majority Of The Boss Fights

Jade Lotus is a ubiquitous material used in a range of Medicines, primarily those that counter the Four Banes effects – Burn, Shock, Poison, and Chill – as well as the Evil Repelling Medicament, an all-purpose Alleviating Medicine that boosts Damage Reduction for a long time. For that reason, acquiring the
Jade Lotus Seed
will be useful for crafting Medicines needed in a majority of the boss fights in Black Myth.

Some excellent farming locations include the Black Wind Cave in Chapter 1 and near the same Brook of Bliss location in Chapter 3 that players searched for Gentian.

4 Licorice Seed

Another Material Needed In Many Medicines

Another rather ubiquitous material,

Licorice, is needed in many Medicines, including the Evil Repelling Medicament and the Ginseng & Enhanced Ginseng Pellets. It is also a necessary ingredient for the Decoctions, or Enhancing Medicines, that players will use to increase their Health, Stamina, and Mana for a long duration: the Longevity, Tonifying, and Essence Decoctions, respectively.

Licorice plants are purple flowers found around the desert and throughout Chapter 2. Check for

Licorice Seed near the Crouching Tiger Temple Entrance, the Village Entrance and the Valley of Despair.

3 Nine-Capped & Purple Lingzhi Seed

The Player Must Seek Out The Nine-Capped Lingzhi Boss In Chapter 5

The Nine-Capped & Purple Lingzhi Seed is another combination drop, and once exchanged with Chen Loong, players gain access to both material recipes. For this seed, seek out the Nine-Capped Lingzhi boss in Chapter 5, a hidden enemy that comes out of the ground when the Destined One interacts with a plant next to the Ashen Pass III shrine.

10 Reasons Black Myth: Wukong Deserves GOTY At TGA 2024

Not everyone agrees that Black Myth: Wukong deserves GOTY at The Game Awards, but there are at least ten reasons that make it a top contender.

While

Purple Lingzhi is purchasable for 90 Will,
Nine-Capped Lingzhi
can only be accessed by gathering the
Nine-Capped Lingzhi Seed
. Both versions of the damage-increasing Tiger Subduing Pellets require Purple Lingzhi, as well as Body-Fleeting Powder and Loong Aura Amplification Pellets.

Nine-Capped Linzhi are much rarer and are used in the creation of both Ascension Powder and one of the best medicines available in the late game, the Soul Remigration Pill, a mythic Reassuring Medicine that “grants resurrection upon death before triggering Life Saving Strand for a long duration.”

Harvesting Nine-Capped Lingzhi at Chen Loong will prove fruitful for this medicine alone, the recipe for which can be bought from Shen Monkey.

2 Snake-Head Mushroom & Monkey-Head Fungus Seed

The Final Two-For-One Of The Collectible Seeds

The Snake-Head Mushroom &

Monkey-Head Fungus Seed is the final two-for-one of the collectible seeds, and as such can only be gathered after defeating another Yaoguai Chief hiding in the ground. This boss can be found in Chapter 4 after the Destined One enters the Temple of Yellow Flowers.

Ascending the mountain, players will find an old shack surrounded by mushrooms, and pulling one of these up triggers the fight with Fungiwoman. Defeating her rewards this seed as well the Fungiwoman Spirit and a Knot of Voidness. The Sunset of the Nine Skies Drink can also be found nearby.

Following the trend with these combination seeds, the

Snake-Head Mushroom is a more common material than the
Monkey-Head Fungus
, but the fungus is required for two of the strongest Fortifying Medicines available, the Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets and the Loong Aura Amplification Pellets, which “massively increase Attack, Critical Hit Chance, and Critical Damage for a long duration.”

The recipe for the Loong Aura Amplification Pellets can be bought from Xu Dog at the start of Chapter 5, while the Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets recipe is found in a chest near Bitter Lake in the New West (Chapter 3).

1 Tree Pearl Seed

Recognizable As The White Fruit Hanging From Trees Around The New West

The final seed, the

Tree Pearl Seed, will be recognizable as the white fruit hanging from trees around the New West. To farm for the seed, many Tree Pearls can be gathered along the Snowhill Path, the Valley of Ecstasy, and Bitter Lake. Tree Pearls are required for the creation of Antimiasma Powder and Enhanced Ginseng Pellets, and can be bought for 180 Will starting when the Destined One reaches Chapter 3.

Collecting the final seed awards players with the Seeds to Sow trophy/achievement. Whether players are hunting for trophies or strategizing over what medicines to use in their next boss fight, a good understanding of the seeds and materials goes a long way.

Whether players are hunting for trophies or strategizing over what medicines to use in their next boss fight, a good understanding of the seeds and materials goes a long way.

While it’s frustrating to be locked out by a 30-minute timer when trying to collect these seeds, knowing where to look will save players a lot of time in the long run. The best strategy for collecting these seeds and avoiding farming all together is diligence, collecting every seed the Destined One comes across in his journey through Black Myth: Wukong.
