There’s One Side Mission You Should Do ASAP

If you want to start off STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl with a fair number of Coupons and a great gun, there’s one mission you should play as soon as you get the chance. It will come fairly early, but players may ignore it, not knowing any better at first. However, it is a great quest to get a feel for the game early on, and it also comes with a fair amount of loot to boot.

There are many side missions located across the map of STALKER 2, all of which come with their own rewards. Some of them will be more challenging than others. For instance, “The Poppy Field” quest gotten from the man in Hamster’s store is going to be a difficult one to start with, so players might want to save that one for when they’re more prepared. However, this one mission is nice, to the point, and will give players what they need to start off the game on the right foot.

As soon as the tutorial is finished, players will want to go find the small town of Zalissya, which they will be directed to by Richter immediately. On the way, there will be an opportunity for another side quest to rescue Gloomy, which players can do if they so choose. Once Zalissya is reached, go ahead and follow the marker to the bar and watch the cutscene that unfolds. Afterward, you will have the chance to speak to the bartender, Warlock, once more. You will definitely want to as he is the only one that can give you this quest, “Warlock’s Debtor.”

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is an ambitious and engrossing open-world immersive sim, putting you in the Zone, an unnerving and unfathomable place.

He will provide the quest information over the course of the conversation. There is another Stalker named Valik Lummox who he wants to collect his debt from, as the rookie has been talking a bit too big and trying to intimidate others into letting him have the things he took for free. This isn’t going over well, and Warlock wants Skif, the player character, to talk him into giving up what he took and repaying the debt.

Finding Valik & What To Do

Accept the quest and head to the objective immediately, as it will be important. It’s a nice easy walk from Zalissya and players should not have too much trouble with enemies. When arriving, players will find they haven’t been the only one to seek out Valik to collect the debt. A group of gang members and Valik will be in a standoff, and the leader wants Skif to interrogate him too.

Does STALKER 2 Have DLC?

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a long-awaited follow-up to the cult-classic survival horror trilogy, but GSC Game World isn’t stopping at release.

There are a couple of different ways this quest can go. You can take out everyone, or you can pick and choose who to take down, which is part of the faction feature in STALKER 2. If Valik is killed, the debt is settled, but Warlock may not be happy that his wishes for Valike to be kept alive were ignored. The gang will not take it lying down either. There are a fair number of them and choosing to fight right away will likely not go in Skif’s favor.

Regardless of which way you choose to go about things, it will go better for you if you play nice with both parties until after you go to the top of the tower.

The best course of action is to follow Valik’s advice and climb the tower first, where his stash can be found. It is the fairly good gun mentioned earlier, along with a significant pile of precious ammo, and will be a huge boon to getting through the early game of STALKER 2. Once it’s picked up, it’s Skif’s to keep, and Valik suggests using it to pick off the gang members.

This is fairly easy, as everyone involved is on the ground and the weapon that’s just been acquired, Valik Lummox’s AKM-74S, has been upgraded to include a sniper scope to increase the range and accuracy of the weapon. While other, similar guns can be found throughout the opening hours, this is a slightly unique variant that has already been upgraded at least once. Regardless of the player’s method for resolving the quest, the scoped AKM-74S and the generous amount of ammo it was stashed with will be kept, along with a fair amount of Coupons from Valik.

Those Coupons can then be to further upgrade the weapon you just got, or spend it on another weapon. The real reward is having just made your life much easier with Warlock as a friend, and a decently upgraded weapon with a surplus of ammo – all of which is hard to come by in the Zone. It is also a great way to get a handle on the game’s difficulty and what the open world is like, which is a big bonus to doing this mission ASAP in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
