The First Chapter (& How Much They’re Worth)

Disney’s popular trading card game, Disney Lorcana, releases special Enchanted rarity cards with each of its sets, the first of which began with these 12 coveted cards in The First Chapter. When Disney Lorcana: The First Chapter launched in the summer of 2023, the game had a rough start with distribution problems making it so getting any card for the game was a monumental task, much less the special Enchanted cards. It took several months, and a reprint of that first set, to bring the game to where finding cards is not so difficult. Nonetheless, Enchanted cards remain a special and elusive pull.

Enchanted cards are Lorcana‘s most valuable, even though they don’t offer any additional benefit in actual gameplay. In fact, bringing an Enchanted card to a table would likely cause more of an uproar by collectors desperate to keep the card in perfect condition. These beautiful cards feature alternate, borderless artwork with a special foil process. Similar to other TCGs, the Enchanted cards are secret rarities whose numbers go above the standard format for the set. The First Chapter has 204 numbered cards, with the Enchanted cards numbered above that.

12 Mickey Mouse: Artful Rogue Has Dropped In Price Significantly

Card Number 210/204, Emerald Ink

Mickey Mouse: Artful Rogue is the first of two Lorcana Enchanted cards to feature the iconic mouse. As the mascot for The Walt Disney Company, this is rather unsurprising, especially in the game’s first set. #210 Artful Rogue has the lower worth of the two, though, having dropped from being one of the higher-valued cards to currently sitting at an estimated market price of $97 (via TCGplayer) as of the time of writing.

The card art may be less dramatic than some of the designs seen later down this list, but the longevity of Mickey as a character makes this a highly sought-after card, despite not cracking the top 10 most valuable.

11 Aladdin: Heroic Outlaw Headlines The Ruby Deck Of The Set

Card Number 211/204, Ruby Ink

One of two appearances from Disney’s Aladdin among Lorcana‘s Enchanted cards, the eponymous character graces the front of Aladdin: Heroic Outlaw, #211. Sadly, after the card has suffered a drastic drop in value, TCGplayer has Aladdin: Heroic Outlaw listed with a market price of $113.

Although Aladdin managing two Enchanted cards in The First Chapter is notable, they make for striking characters for the rare collectibles, particularly when someone is able to snag both cards. The card art features a stunning red-themed design, which isn’t typically associated with Aladdin‘s more familiar orange and purple palette.

10 Hades: King Of Olympus Is A Card Worthy Of A God

Card Number 205/204, Amber Ink

The villain of Disney’s Hercules graces the front of the Enchanted-rarity Hades: King of Olympus Lorcana card, #205. Its market price, according to TCGplayer, has remained among the lowest of Enchanted cards from The First Chapter, coming in at about $114. The artwork here is a striking portrayal of the God of the Undead, with Hades’ left hand reaching into the foreground, while his wide smile bares sharp teeth.

While the card art is striking, it’s possible fans were hoping for a more traditional take on Hades. Hades is known for his blue-flamed hair, but the card art shows him with his enraged orange/red flames instead. Perhaps a more traditional design may have made this card more nostalgic – and more collectible.

9 Genie: On The Job Shows Off A Magical Illustration

Card Number 209/204, Emerald Ink

TCGplayer‘s next highest market price for Disney Lorcana: The First Chapter Enchanted cards is $120 for Genie: On the Job. Genie, voiced by the beloved Robin Williams in the original 1992 animated film, occupies the front of #209, snapping his fingers to apparently shrink a soldier with glee. The colorful swirls in the Enchanted foil pair well against the Emerald ink denotation for the card, making it a beautiful piece of art.

Interestingly, while this Enchanted version of Genie: On the Job is doing well at holding high value, the Disney100 Promo card of Genie: Powers Unleashed from The First Chapter is currently only valued at around $3.50 on TCGplayer.

8 Simba: Returned King Tends To Fluctuate In Value

Card number 215/204, Simba: Returned King, was for a long time the least sought-after Disney Lorcana: The First Chapter Enchanted card, but fluctuations in demand caused its market value to jump dramatically over the year. According to TCGplayer, this Simba Enchanted card currently has a market price of roughly $146.

The card’s artwork has the protagonist of The Lion King ascending a hill, backlit by an ominous bolt of lightning. As one of the more striking Enchanteds of its set, and featuring a classic and beloved character, it’s perhaps surprising that this card isn’t fetching a higher price.

7 Aurora: Dreaming Guardian Is Stuck In The Blue Dress, But Beautiful Nonetheless

Card Number 213/204, Sapphire Ink

The protagonist of the 1959 classic, Sleeping Beauty, this tired princess has her own Enchanted Lorcana card, Aurora: Dreaming Guardian. The name of the card seems to suggest Aurora’s eyes aren’t just closed in the artwork, but the princess is actually asleep.

According to TCGplayer, Aurora: Dreaming Guardian is worth roughly $199, although that number would no doubt have been higher if the glimmering foil design had made Aurora’s dress change from blue to pink based on the angle.

6 Mickey Mouse: Wayward Sorcerer Highlights The Main Character For The Set

Card Number 208/204, Amethyst Ink

Mickey Mouse: Wayward Sorcerer, is the main character artwork that was used in marketing for Disney Lorcana: The First Chapter, so it comes as no surprise that this Enchanted is one of the most striking of the set. Mickey’s Wayward Sorcerer card is the mascot’s second of two Enchanted cards in the set. This one is much more coveted than the Artful Rogue card, bearing a market value of $200 on TCGplayer.

The price difference is possibly due to the card design itself: the purples are particularly beautiful on the card. However, this version of Mickey was also used in a lot of promotional materials for the game, which may also have made it more desirable.

5 Belle: Strange But Special Is A Favorite Disney Princess

Belle, as one of the most recognizable Disney Princesses, is a perfect choice for inclusion in The First Chapter‘s Enchanted cards, and is fittingly among the most valuable, having a TCGplayer market value of $236.

The Beauty and the Beast protagonist appears in the artwork for Belle: Strange but Special. The bookworm has been a Disney icon since the animated film debuted in 1991, so it’s not shocking to see her Enchanted card come in at such a high value.

4 Maui: Hero To All Is A Favorite Pull For Many

Card Number 212/204, Ruby Ink

Hailing from a more recent Disney sensation, 2016’s Moana, is Maui. His Enchanted card for Disney Lorcanacarries a TCGplayer market price of around $245. Much like the other cards, Maui: Hero to All shows its subject in action, holding his famous giant hook reminiscent of those used for fishing, as he runs toward the viewer.

Maui is notably voiced by Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson in Moana, former WWE Champion turned Hollywood superstar. As well as being a beloved character from the hit movie, the casting and popularity of the Rock could well be contributing to the popularity of the card.

3 Tinker Bell: Giant Fairy Has Grown In The Hearts Of Many

Tinker Bell takes on a towering stature, picking up Captain Hook’s ship in her Enchanted card, numbered 216. Tinker Bell: Giant Fairy has a market price of $280 on TCGplayer. As expected, Tinker Bell’s Enchanted card has in-game abilities derived from its entertaining artwork, and when played in a game it can be one of the best cards to have in a Steel ink deck.

Alongside Mickey, it’s equally unsurprising to see Tinker Bell qualify for the first run of Enchanted Lorcana cards; her popularity has made her something of an unofficial mascot for Disney. Tinker Bell: Giant Fairy has become such a beloved card that many decks have been created centering around it, and many accessories such as playmats have been designed with its artwork.

2 Stitch: Carefree Surfer Caught The Wave Of Lorcana Early

Stitch: Carefree Surfer, immediately caught the attention of many Disney Lorcana fans for the vibrant and cheerful artwork which features Stitch – of Lilo & Stitch fame – doing a handstand on a surfboard, while simultaneously reaching for a sandwich that’s made its way into the mouth of an airborne fish. The card currently has a market value of roughly $310 (via TCGplayer).

With Stitch being Experiment 626 in a long line of extraterrestrial beings that came to Earth in the film, Lilo & Stitch has plenty of inspiration for future Lorcana cards. In fact, Stitch has become a huge face for Lorcana, having notable appearances in the marketing of many of the sets, such as Into the Inklands, and a gift collection dedicated to him in Azurite Sea.

1 Elsa: Spirit Of Winter Is An Incredibly Valuable Card

Card Number 207/204, Amethyst Ink

Frozen‘s monumental success, including multiple box office hits and the inescapable chart-topper, “Let It Go,” makes Elsa’s Enchanted Lorcana card listed as the most valuable practically expected. Elsa: Spirit of Winter’s market value is currently around an astounding $1,010 (via TCGplayer), although prices have continued to fluctuate for the piece.

The icy blues in the artwork mixed with the purple of the Amethyst ink make for a beautiful combination, further adding to the desirability of this Disney Lorcana Enchanted card.
