Art the Clown actor David Howard Thornton has revealed his favorite kill in Terrifier 3, explaining that it’s one that has importance and relevance to the plot of the film. The upcoming Terrifier 3 sees Art the Clown return, this time during the Christmas season, seeking revenge against Sienna Shaw (Lauren LaVera) for killing him in the previous movie. Written and directed by franchise creator Damien Leone, the movie is expected to have plenty of over-the-top gore and frightening kills throughout its runtime.

Speaking with Screen Rant, Thornton revealed his favorite Terrifier 3 kill is the one that explains how Art gets his Santa costume. The actor teased multiple people involved in the scene, getting to work with plenty of other stars while Leone gave him the freedom to do what he wanted with the moment. He also teases there was more planned involving the kill, but they had to cut parts out due to time constraints. Check out what Thornton had to say below:

My favorite is the kill that reveals how he got Santa Claus’ costume. I had so much fun. I thought that was such an over-the-top, crazy kill. Plus, I got to interact with a bunch of actors that I have respected and idolized in some ways my whole entire life. So, I was able to act with these gentlemen as peers, which was very exciting for me. And Damien [Leone] gave us so much free reign filming this scene to just play around and experiment, so I had a blast doing it.

And I think it translates to the scene itself, especially when you see the dynamic between myself and the other actor during the kill scene. We had a lot of fun just bantering back and forth with each other, and I love it. Plus, I think it’s a cool kill. We actually wanted to go further with it, but we just didn’t have time. But I’m very happy with what’s on screen.

What David Howard Thornton’s Favorite Kill Means For Terrifier 3

The Movie Could Rival Its Predecessor

One the core reasons why the slasher franchise became so popular is because of Terrifier 2’s controversial bedroom scene, which sees Art murder Sienna’s friend, Allie (Casey Hartnett) in a slow and extremely brutal fashion. Because of how well-known this scene has become, the series is now infamous for its level of gore and detailed deaths of major characters. This will no doubt carry over into the newest installment, with Thornton’s hints about his favorite kill indicating something similar could be in store when the movie comes out.

Reviews for Terrifier 3 have already been calling the film even better than its predecessor, something that indicates the gory murders it presents will be complimentary of Thornton’s statement. Since his favorite kill happens when Art gets his Santa costume, though, it sounds like it will be happening very early into the movie. This means kills that transpire further along in the film might not fully measure up to one of the first kills. Even so, the movie’s bringing back Victoria (Samantha Scaffidi) and ultimately expanding the lore means the story will offer more than just gory kills.

Given how excited Thornton is for what might be one of the earlier kills in the movie, it sounds like Terrifier 3 will be impressing with every death that happens in the film. This could mean many gory sequences throughout the movie, some that may even rival the second film’s most controversial moments. With so many potential deaths and wild, blood-soaked kills to come, the third installment might be the strongest of them all.
