The Masked Singer season 12 welcomed back panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora, along with host Nick Cannon. For the first time ever, The Masked Singer has introduced Masked Ambassadors, who are alums of the show with special connections to the newest contestants.

The Masked Singer season 12 began with Group A, which included Leaf Sheep (John Elway), Showbird (Yvette Nicole Brown), Woodpecker (Marsai Martin), Ship (Paula Cole), and the Buffalos, who advanced to the quarterfinals. The Group B contestants included Dust Bunny (Andy Richter), Chess Piece (Laverne Cox), Bluebell (Natalie Imbruglia), and Wasp and Goo, who both became quarterfinalists when the panelists used the Ding Dong Keep It On Bell to save Goo. The Panelists Guessed A Variety of Celebrities

During The Masked Singer season 12 Who Are You Fest Night, the panelists offered many different guesses for Royal Knight’s identity. Jenny guessed that she was Ashley Tisdale, and Rita said that, the world she was in, she was thinking Ashley Tisdale or Hilary Duff. However, she then mentioned Lily James, saying that she thought that Royal Knight might be disguising her British accent with a country twang. Royal Knight then said, “I do love my tea time.” Robin was unsure if a person could change their accent that much, so he thought that she might be Hayden Panettiere. Rita said that she loved that guess, and Jenny added that it was good.

During Miley Cyrus Knight, the panelists guessed more celebrities. Rita thought that she might be an actor, perhaps Amanda Seyfried. Jenny agreed that she was an actress too, but she thought that she was Jennifer Love Hewitt. Rita then mentioned Kate Hudson, but Ken guessed that she might be Aubrey Plaza. Robin thought that Ken had a good guess, but the clues actually point in a different direction: actress and singer Jana Kramer.

Royal Knight’s Masked Ambassador was Savannah Chrisley, who was The Masked Singer season 11’s Afghan Hound. At the beginning of Royal Knight’s clue package, she appeared on the cover of an ornate fairy tale pop-up book. Savannah said that it’s no secret that her own life has been “pretty rough lately,” but she was there to introduce viewers to “the toughest woman I know, Royal Knight.” Savannah is friends with Jana. Jana even appeared on Savannah’s podcast Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley.

Clues About Royal Knight’s Life Were Revealed

When The Masked Singer season 12 Group C contestant Royal Knight first stepped out on the stage, Rita commented that her poses looked like a model, while Jenny noticed that she was tall. Robin added that she had a strut, and Jenny agreed that she was very confident. Royal Knight performed an incredible version of “Yoü and I” by Lady Gaga.

At the beginning of her clue package, the book with Savannah on the cover opened up to reveal Royal Knight inside of it. She told her, “Thanks, Sis. I’ll take it from here.” A crown then appeared over Royal Knight’s head, and a castle surrounded her. She was then shown walking through a kingdom. Royal Knight said, “Chapter One,” and shared that, as a young girl, she thought she’d have “that fairy tale life,” so she went on a quest for it. She was then shown looking at a white glass slipper on a gold pedestal.

Royal Knight added that it turned out that her life was no fantasy. The Masked Singer season 12 contestant revealed that there was “heartbreak and terror behind every corner,” and she quickly had to learn to protect herself with layers of armor, until she became the “warrior” that she is today. As Royal Knight said this, she had a duel with a red dragon, in which her sword was a TV remote control. Jana is a TV star who has been married four times to Michael Gambino, Johnathon Schaech, Mike Caussin, and now Allan Russell.

As the scene turned to a forest with green trees with red, yellow, and blue butterflies, Royal Knight added that she had to “break free of the idea of a ‘you and I’ and learn how to be, well, ‘me.'”Royal Knight then held up a gold megaphone that said, “The T,” on the side.

Royal Knight went on to say that, now, she doesn’t care about castles or kings, as long as she’s “giving main character energy.“ She snapped her fingers as she said this. The book then turned to pages that read, “The End,” and closed as Savannah said, “Oh wow! You are one of the fiercest friends that I have, and I think that tonight, for your performance, you’re gonna slay.”

After Royal Knight’s performance, another clue was given about her identity, which was merchandise from Who Are You Fest. The clue was a t-shirt that said, “Who Are You Fest,” on the front, and “Ready to Sleigh,” on the back. A white sleigh with red interior, with evergreen trees on the side, was also printed on the shirt. Royal Knight explained, “No matter the season, I’m always ready to ‘slay’ the competition.” Jana has appeared in many Lifetime Christmas movies, which explained the “sleigh” clue.

Royal Knight Revealed More Clues About Her Life

The Masked Singer season 12 Miley Cyrus Night began with Royal Knight, Sherlock Hound, Strawberry Shortcake, and Ice King singing Miley’s classic song, “Party in the U.S.A.” Royal Knight then competed with a sincere and moving version of “When I Look At You.“

In her clue package, Royal Knight explained what she had in common with “paparazzi favorite,” Miley. As a book opened to reveal a Wanted poster of Miley with a $15,000 reward, hanging from a tree next to two deer, Royal Knight said that tonight The Masked Singer was celebrating Miley. She said that just like Miley had many chapters in her life, so did she. Royal Knight then began to tell the story of chapter two of her life. Jana’s first single was called “Why Ya Wanna,” which is what the Wanted poster represented. The tree could reference her role as Alex Dupré in One Tree Hill.

Royal Knight shared that, while she may have been standing on the stage in shiny, protective armor, for so much of her life, she felt broken. As she smelled a bouquet of flowers in a vase, she said that a series of bad relationships, betrayals, and heartbreaks left her feeling shattered, and, worst of all, like everything was her fault. This was another reference to Jana’s three divorces. A mannequin with red scrubs was then shown. This could possibly refer to Jana appearing in episodes of the medical dramas Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice.

Royal Knight went on to say that she knew that love was out there for her, so she continued fighting, and it was a battlefield. A purple tapestry with a red heart with orange flames was then shown with a slash from a sword in it. As she looked out at the sunset, Royal Knight said that, just as her world was falling apart, she saw someone on the horizon: a beacon calling her to safety. The shadowy figure of a male knight was then shown.

Royal Knight added, “And now, he’s my North Star. I look to him when I feel lost, and, he calls me his warrior.” Royal Knight confessed that this was why she broke into tears when the first time that she saw her mask. At that point, she took a red gumball out of a gumball machine. Rita thought that the gumball machine might refer to The Masked Singer season 11’s Gumball, Scott Porter. She might’ve been right because Jana played Noelle Davenport on seven episodes of Friday Night Lights, in which Scott also starred.

Royal Knight then continued to talk about her love, sharing that her Miley Cyrus Night song was “for him. The knight, my light I found in total darkness.”This was a reference to Jana’s husband, Allan.

After Royal Knight’s performance, another clue about her was given, which was her connection to Miley. The clue was a sign that said, “Nashville.” Royal Knight explained, “Well, just like Party in the U.S.A., Miley and I would both prefer a Nashville party.”Jana is a country music artist who has released two studio albums, Jana Kramer and Thirty One.

The Masked Singer season 12’s Royal Knight is a fierce competitor with a sensational voice and spectacular stage presence. She has the potential to make it far in Group C. She’ll next compete in the Group C finals on Thanksgiving Night, along with Sherlock Hound and Strawberry Shortcake. Royal Knight truly slayed the competition.
