According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United’s wantaway forward Marcus Rashford is open to joining Barcelona for the second half of the season after his representatives met with Barca sporting director Deco.

Any deal will, however, depend on players leaving the Catalan club as they still struggle to comply with the financial rules in Spain. Defender Eric Garcia should join either Girona or Como, while the situation with forward Ansu Fati remains unclear at this point.

Rashford has been of interest to several other clubs, with Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan mentioned in that aspect, as well as Borussia Dortmund who reportedly remain keen on his services. Dortmund are believed to have a good relationship with Man United and they should be ruled out just yet, but it seems Barcelona are ahead in the race for the 27-year-old England international.

Wherever Rashford ends up going, the deal is expected to be a straight loan, with United determined to have their say regarding any permanent transfer in the summer.
