Pokémon GO‘s Holiday Part 2 event will run from December 22 to December 27, 2024. The big news is the introduction of Shiny Cetoddle, which many are eager to catch. There will also be holiday-themed Wooloo and Dubwool, with Dubwool evolving from the costumed Wooloo. During this event, you will earn double XP for catching Pokémon and a 50% bonus for Raid Battles, making it a great time to play.
Plenty of activities will include special Field Research tasks and Collection Challenges that offer rewards like Stardust, Poké Balls and encounters with Pokémon. Raids will feature a wide range of Pokémon, from one-star raids with Cetoddle to five-star raids with Giratina (Altered Forme), along with Mega Raids featuring Latias and Abomasnow. Every Pokémon Appearing For The First Time
The Pokémon GO Holiday Part 2 event will bring some new Pokémon for you to get. The biggest highlight is the first appearance of Shiny Cetoddle, a unique Ice-type Pokémon that you can catch in a special gray and orange color. You will have plenty of chances to find Shiny Cetoddle, especially in raids where it’s more likely to show up.
- Shiny Cetoddle: Its shiny variant is available for the first time.
- Wooloo in Holiday Attire: A new costumed form of Wooloo.
- Dubwool in Holiday Attire: A new costumed form of Dubwool (evolution of Holiday Wooloo).

In addition to Shiny Cetoddle, the event also features costumed versions of two popular Pokémon. Wooloo, the adorable sheep Pokémon, will be wearing a festive outfit and can be found in the wild during the event. When you evolve Wooloo into Dubwool, the Pokémon will also be in a holiday costume, which requires 50 Wooloo candies. There’s also a chance to find shiny versions of these costumed Pokémon, making it even more thrilling for trainers trying to complete their collections.

The Pokémon GO Holiday Part 2 event features more frequent appearances of certain Pokémon in the game. You will see a boost in wild encounters with familiar Pokémon like Alolan Rattata, Galarian Zigzagoon, Murkrow, Blitzle, Vanillite, and Tynamo, giving them more chances to catch them or complete research tasks. The rare Pokémon Absol will also have a higher chance of showing up, but it’s still rare overall. Pokémon GO will likely do this to ensure more players attend the event.

The event also makes Incense more effective, increasing your chances of finding specific Pokémon. On even-numbered days, Pokémon GO‘s Incense will attract Snorlax, Blitzle, Yamask, Lampent, and Holiday Attire Wooloo, while on odd-numbered days, trainers can find Galarian Zigzagoon, Togetic, Foongus, Furfrou, and Cetoddle. With both the boosted wild encounters and the effects of Incense, it’s an excellent time for catching Pokémon.
Even still, the event won’t last very long, so you only have three days to get the even-numbered Pokémon and three days to get the odd-numbered Pokémon. Once the days are done, the Pokémon will return to their regular spawn rates. However, you can still always use Incense to help yourself find Pokémon.
All Raids During The Holiday Part 2 Event
Keep An Eye Out For Raid Opportunities
In the 2024 Pokémon GO Holiday Part 2 event, you can participate in a variety of raid battles with different levels of difficulty. This allows everyone to find various Pokémon, including some shiny versions. In one-star raids, you will face easier challenges and can find Alolan Vulpix, Galarian Darumaka, Litwick, and the exciting debut of Shiny Cetoddle. This makes getting the shiny version attainable for all skill levels.
Three-star raids are tougher and feature Pokémon like Snorlax, Banette, Zebstrika, and Toucannon. Although shiny versions aren’t guaranteed in these raids, you generally have a better chance of finding shiny Pokémon during the event. Unfortunately, this is not recommended to newer players, only those who have built up their Pokémon to beat one-star raids more easily.
You should be at least level 30 or above for three-star raids, and their attackers should be over level 30. For a five-star, it’s at least level 75. Keep an eye on the raid schedule for December 2024 to see what you should be online for.
The higher-level raids are even more challenging and rewarding. Mega Raids will feature different Mega Pokémon over time. Mega Latias will be available until December 26 at 10:00 AM local time, and then Mega Abomasnow will take over. Lastly, five-star raids will include Giratina (Altered Forme), starting December 26 at 10:00 AM local time. This legendary Pokémon is a tough opponent, but catching it can be a great addition to any collection.

All The Rewards
The Pokémon GO Holiday Part 2 (2024) event brings many rewards for trainers. The event includes special Field Research tasks that let you find holiday-themed Pokémon. For $5 (or the local equivalent), trainers can access exclusive Timed Research. The rewards for this include one Glacial Lure Module, two Incense, and a Wooloo Jacket for the trainer’s avatar.
Remember that all purchases, including gifts, are non-refundable, and trainers can’t use PokéCoins for them.
Players who have reached “Great Friends” status can buy and gift these Timed Research tickets to others. Also, remember that Timed Research has to be completed by 8:00 PM local time on Friday, December 27, 2024, or you will lose the rewards. Aside from that, during the event, catching Pokémon gives trainers double XP, and Raid Battles gives a 50% XP bonus.
