Warning: MAJOR SPOILERS ahead for the From season 3 finale! From star David Alpay, who portrays Jade, has reacted to the show’s massive season 3 finale twist, explaining his thoughts on a major question that’s finally been answered. During the end of From season 3, Jade, Tabitha (Catalina Sandino Moreno) and Jim (Eion Bailey) discover the numbers in the Bottle Tree are actually musical notes. The former software developer plays them on Victor’s (Scott McCord) violin, causing the children who say “Anghkooey” to appear. Jade realizes the word means “remember,” and that he and Tabitha are Christopher (Thom Payne) and Miranda (Sarah Booth) reincarnated.
Speaking with Fangirlish, Alpay explained he had no idea From season 3 would feature the twist that Jade is Christopher reincarnated. Boasting his ability to see where most TV show stories are going, he praised creator Jeff Griffin and showrunner Josh Pinker for crafting an unpredictable storyline. He also breaks down why his character was able to discover the truth, and the deep analysis that went into making the story flow like it did. Check out what Alpay had to say below:
I watch a lot of TV, and I feel like within the first three minutes, I can sort of guess how an episode is going to go. Or what’s going to happen by the end of the story, or a mystery, or whatever. I didn’t see this coming…. [I]t wouldn’t surprise me if Nick Bythrow Jeff [Griffin] and [showrunner] John [Pinkner] had sort of put hints in there. [They’re] very good about keeping their secrets under lock and key. It might be worth re-watching again, especially Season 3 to see how the pieces line up. Because it is — it’s like you’re saying. It’s a giant, very intricate puzzle.
[H]e can feel it. He can feel it instinctively. He just doesn’t have all the pieces to be able to make it make sense. That’s why it annoys him when people say, ‘oh yeah, there’s numbers in the bottles, but they don’t mean anything.’ Well, how…do you know they don’t mean anything. Have you looked at them? Have you analyzed them? Have you done regression analysis? Like I don’t know — whatever! Why would you just discount a clue before you knew what it was? You can see I’m losing my mind right now just thinking about it.
What From’s Reincarnation Twist Means For Season 3
Answers Could Be The First Step In Getting Home

These elements connect to reveal what’s going on, with Christopher and Victor’s mom seemingly locked in eternal struggle with the town’s original residents.
