With that in mind, the cast of season 3 won’t see everyone return, though most likely will. Since Grace Van Patten’s Lucy and Jackson White’s Stephen are the toxic duo at the heart of the story, it stands to reason that they will be the first two names confirmed for season 3’s ensemble. One actor who won’t return is Benjamin Wadsworth, who played Drew, because of his character’s tragic death in season 2.

Another Massive Cliffhanger Ended Season 2
Not to be outdone by its unbelievably twisty first season, the sophomore season ended on perhaps the most shocking note of all. Paying off a decade-old debt, Stephen finally manages to ruin Bree and Evan’s big day in the 2015 timeline with a bombshell that will serve as the main conflict of season 3. Having learned that Evan and Lucy hooked up back during the Baird College days, Stephen had apparently been hiding a voice recording of Evan admitting his indiscretion, and waited for the perfect moment to unleash it.
Meanwhile, back in the college years, Stephen and Lucy’s over-the-top relationship changed multiple times during season 2, but the scheming Stephen finally got what he wanted by the end. Though Lucy couldn’t stop herself from sleeping with Stephen, she chose to be with Leo. Stephen confronted the pair with the revelation that he had slept with Lucy just that morning, and Leo proceeded to violently pummel him. This immediately soured his relationship with Lucy, and the subtle smirk from Stephen revealed it was his plan all along.
As if things couldn’t get any more twisted and dark, Tell Me Lies season 3 is likely going to deal with the fallout of Stephen’s two big bombshells. Having poisoned her relationship with Leo, Stephen has Lucy right where he wants her back in the 2000s. Meanwhile, his sabotage of Bree and Evan’s wedding puts a target on Lucy’s back in 2015, and that will draw her closer to him in both eras.
