Aaron Korsh and NBCUniversal are working on a new Suits show, and details are beginning to pour in about the spinoff which has now been titled Suits L.A.. The 2011-2019 drama Suits focused on ultra-slick litigator Harvey Specter and his college dropout mentor with a photographic memory Mike Ross. Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams led the cast of the show. While it was successful in its day, Suits began making waves again when it arrived on Netflix in 2023.
Somehow the Aaron Korsh show defied all expectations (even his) and became the most-watched show in the platform’s history, overtaking 2022’s Wednesday and Netflix powerhouse Stranger Things. This momentum naturally led to intrigue and questions about the future of Suits and whether it will return. Sure enough, it was confirmed later the same year that Aaron Korsh and NBCUniversal were developing a new spinoff set in the world of Suits.

Suits L.A. Story Details
Suits Moves To The City Of Angels
Suits L.A. will chronicle former prosecutor Ted Black (Stephen Amell) as he has a crisis of professional faith while working as a defense attorney for powerful clients in LA’s entertainment industry.
It has now been revealed that the Suits spinoff will be set in the same universe as the original series but will take place at an entertainment law firm in Los Angeles. Suits L.A. will chronicle former prosecutor Ted Black (Stephen Amell) as he has a crisis of professional faith while working as a defense attorney for powerful clients in LA’s entertainment industry.
Besides Ted, the character of Erica has been introduced as a thirty-something Black woman who works at the firm but has big dreams of becoming the head of the firm’s entertainment division. She may follow a similar trajectory as the characters of the original series and climb up through the ranks using her brilliant legal mind. Though not everything is known about Suits L.A., it clearly won’t be a rehash of the original and could be a new take on the legal drama genre.

Watch The Show’s Teasers Below
Just days after the release date was announced, NBC revealed the first teaser trailer for Suits L.A. in November 2024. The sub-one-minute clip is made up mostly of flashy stock footage of L.A., and highly-produced shots of the characters with their features mostly obscured. This trailer was likely slapped together to hype the series, and a more in-depth trailer will come sooner rather than later.
With the show’s February 2025 release date looming, NBC dropped another brief teaser for Suits L.A. in January. The teaser puts the focus on Stephen Amell as lawyer Ted Black, who has an abrasive personality but is clearly liked by his colleagues. A mysterious explosion is seen, and Black’s connection with the original cast of Suits is seen in a photograph. The teaser ends with Black being compared to Harvey Specter because they are both cocky, something he takes as a compliment.
