Based on his performance in Squid Game, T.O.P is clearly a talented performer, which makes his other acting projects worth looking into.

Nineteen (2009)
Three Teens Are Suspected Of Murder
One of the earliest projects T.O.P appeared in is the 2009 TV movie, Nineteen. In this film, three 19-year-olds are accused of murdering a teenage girl whom they went to high school with. With everyone convinced of their guilt, including their families, the teens band together to try and find the real killer, hopeful that this will clear their names and save them from jail time. T.O.P plays the character Jung-hoon, a university student and one of the teenage suspects.
Nineteen is a project that perfectly showcases T.O.P’s career in South Korea. Not only did the actor star in Nineteen, but he also performed the movie’s theme song, alongside his co-star, Seungri. Though a bit unrealistic and probably quite outdated at this point, Nineteen is a great way to see T.O.P in his early stages as an actor. Nineteen may not be the best movie around, but it will likely provide one with an entertaining time.

I Am Sam (2007)
A Teacher Moves In With His Troublesome Student
T.O.P’s very first on-screen performance came in 2007, when he appeared in the main cast of the TV series, I Am Sam. In this K-drama, a mobster is concerned when his beloved daughter starts slacking off in school. As a result, he offers one million won to a goofy and awkward teacher if he moves in and becomes his daughter’s tutor. From there, the strange and hilarious set-up ensues. T.O.P plays the daughter’s classmate, Chae Moo-shin.

The second movie that T.O.P made in 2009 was the crime K-drama, Iris. The show revolves around two best friends who train in the Republic of Korea Army’s 707th Special Mission Group. When the two are both asked to join the National Secret Service, their friendship comes into question due to dueling romantic feelings and competing hopes for success and glory in their new positions. T.O.P has a supporting role as Vick, an assassin from a mysterious corporation.
All in all, Iris evokes the same thrilling and dark ambiance as Squid Game, making it a good follow-up.
Yet again, Iris sees T.O.P in a more villainous and mysterious role. In the role of Vick, T.O.P is lethal and threatens the main characters, mainly because they don’t know anything about him. He can speak both Korean and English, and his origins are completely unclear. All in all, Iris evokes the same thrilling and dark ambiance as Squid Game, making it a good follow-up.

Tazza: The Hidden Card (2014)
A Gambler Enters A Deadly Scheme
For those seeking T.O.P in a leading role, one of the best options is Tazza: The Hidden Card. Based on a manhwa (or comic) of the same name, this film follows Ham Dae-gil, a man who gets sucked into the world of gambling. When he is tricked into becoming the fall guy in a dangerous deal, his only chance for survival is to enter another lethal game that could result in the loser’s death. Yet, Dae-gil may just have the skills to make it out alive.
T.O.P’s role in Tazza: The Hidden Card is sort of like Squid Games’ Thanos if he were the hero of the story. Dae-gil can be cocky, but he actually has the skills to back it up. Furthermore, his intention is not necessarily to kill others, but to survive this dangerous game himself. Because of its ties to games and potential death, Tazza: The Hidden Card is the ideal T.O.P project to watch after Squid Game season 2.

Secret Message (2015)
A Man & Woman Connect Over Their Pasts
Last but not least, T.O.P stars in 2015’s romance K-drama, Secret Message. In this series, T.O.P is a Korean man named Woo-hyun who forms a bond with a Japanese woman named Haruka. Although the two come from seemingly different worlds, they manage to connect over their yearnings for love and their traumatic pasts. Together, the pair learn about love by developing feelings for each other.
