Based on the book series of the same name, the Prime Video series The Summer I Turned Pretty follows Isabel “Belly” Conklin (Lola Tung) during the summers that she spends at her mom Laurel’s (Jackie Chung) best friend Susannah’s (Rachel Blanchard) beach house. Susanah’s sons Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) have always treated Belly and her older brother Steven (Sean Kaufman) as part of the family, but when Belly visits one summer, the two brothers start developing feelings for her, and the years-long love triangle begins.

The vibes of summer are perfectly captured in the beach town of Cousins, and Belly is constantly torn between her feelings for Conrad, who can be quite hot and cold, and her feelings for Jeremiah, who isn’t who she has always dreamed of, but is a perfectly good option, and some newcomers she meets throughout the summer. For fans who love a love triangle and the chaos that can be caused by multiple options, The Summer I Turned Pretty is a perfect next watch.

Twenty-something go-getters Jane Sloan (Katie Stevens), Kat Edison (Aisha Dee), and Sutton Brady (Meghann Fahy) are taking the world of Scarlet Magazine by storm, and they are doing it together. The three women are eager to show their bosses what they are made of, while going through the normal anxieties that young people starting out in their careers face, including professional roadblocks, interpersonal disagreements, feeling like they’re behind in life, and romantic troubles. Through it all, the group shows up and does their best to make the most of the opportunities they’re given and to support each other.

While The Bold Type focuses on the professional lives of Jane, Kat, and Sutton, it also places a large emphasis on their personal lives, with a huge portion of that being their romantic relationships. Jane struggles with her feelings for a player who may or may not be ready to fully commit, Sutton struggles with the intricacies of dating a man older than her and who works in her office, and Kat learns more about her sexuality as she starts to date outside of her comfort zone. For those who tune in to The Bachelorette to watch strong female leads like Rachel Lindsay and Hannah Brown, The Bold Type will certainly satisfy that same craving.

With the success of The Oppenheim Group’s Sunset Boulevard office, Jason Oppenheim opened up a new office in Newport Beach, where just as much drama ensues. As the team attends brokers’ opens and office parties, some misunderstanding inevitably becomes a much larger argument, often spanning episodes and even ruining friendships.

Amidst the beautiful real estate and glamorous glimpses into the lives of the wealthy in sunny Southern California, the reality show drama of Selling the OC is why audiences tune in, from the ill-fated romance between Alex Hall and Tyler Stanaland to the drama between Austin Victoria and Sean Palmieri, which is perfect for fans of the same drama in The Bachelorette. If The Bachelorette‘s chaotic group dates and the villains of the house are the main pull for fans, Selling the OC will cater to that same desire.

Furthermore, there are plenty of romantic storylines in Grey’s Anatomy that will surely captivate the romance fans of The Bachelorette.

When Lorelai Gilmore’s (Lauren Graham) young daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel) gets accepted into a prestigious private school, she can’t come up with the money for the tuition herself, so she reaches out to her mother Emily (Kelly Bishop) to ask for some financial help. Emily, desperate to bring her estranged daughter back into her life, agrees, but only if Lorelai and Rory come to her house every week for a Friday night dinner. Gilmore Girls then follows the relationships that the Gilmore women have with each other and the people closest to them.

This comedy-drama series is known for its quick wit and extremely cozy vibes, but also for the romances that both Rory and Lorelai engage in over the course of the series. There are love triangles old flames that never die and rivalries between current boyfriends and future boyfriends; these women have no shortage of options and fans have very strong opinions about who is meant to be with whom. The romantic storylines in the midst of an otherwise very charming show may be a fun reprieve for fans from the excessive drama in The Bachelorette.

With each episode of this miniseries taking place on the same day over the course of nearly twenty years, audiences are taken on a journey through the lives of Emma (Ambika Mod) and Dexter (Leo Woodall), two very different people who discover a connection during their last night at the University of Edinburgh, and weave their way in and out of each other’s lives in the following years. While Dexter finds success and popularity early on in life, Emma struggles to figure out what she wants and how to get it. Things change for each of them as they grow older, meet new people and love interests, and take on more adult responsibilities, but their connection remains.

Fans of One Day had their hearts ripped out a few times while watching the series, waiting for Emma and Dexter to finally be on the same page and hoping for a happy ending for the two of them. For those fans who enjoy the last few episodes of a season of The Bachelorette where deep feelings have developed and people will get their hearts broken no matter what, One Day makes audiences grow attached to its main characters in a similar way, only to feel the same emotional turmoil as the characters.

‘Love Is Blind’ (2020–)

Created by Chris Coelen

Image from Netflix

Love Is Blind is a reality dating show that asks the question “is love really blind?” by pairing off a small group of men and women and having them get to know each other in pods where they can hear each other, but not see each other, for ten days. If the couples feel a true connection is there, they can propose marriage, and only after this proposal is accepted can they see each other for the first time. Once the couples are engaged, they go on a couples retreat at a resort, and then move to an apartment complex where they meet each other’s family and friends and plan their weddings. In the end, the couples either make it to the altar and say “I do,” or they break up at any moment prior.

This social-experiment-based reality show is incredibly messy and tests a similar question to The Bachelorette, which is about the amount of time required to build a strong enough connection to get married. Inevitably, some contestants are on the show for the “wrong” reasons and become villains, while other couples become fan favorites and last beyond the show. Love Is Blind would be a perfect follow-up to a season of The Bachelorette.

‘Sweet Magnolias’ (2020–)

In the close-knit town of Serenity, South Carolina, best friends Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), Helen (Heather Headley), and Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott) make it a point to be there for each other as the three navigate their romantic relationships, their families and their careers, all while trying to keep the prying eyes of Serenity out of their business. Maddie’s boys Ty (Carson Rowland) and Kyle (Logan Allen), as well as Dana Sue’s daughter Annie (Anneliese Judge), also play a large role in the series, offering fans a multi-generational story.

At the start of Sweet Magnolias, Maddie is navigating a divorce with three kids, Dana Sue’s husband is out of the picture and Helen is eyeing someone new in town, despite still harboring feelings for her high school sweetheart. There are plenty of emotional ups and downs in this very sweet show about finding joy in the everyday and sharing life with loved ones, perfect for those who may want a more mellow romantic TV series after The Bachelorette.
