The Sims 4 has brought in many families from past titles like The Sims 3. The base game included classics like the Landgraab and Goth families. In the meantime, others Sims have appeared in expansions and through the Gallery like Holly Alto, the Martinez family, and the Newbies. But, there is still a huge number of households to convert from TS3 into TS4. Many are best suited for packs so they can retain their relationships on any save file.
Some TS3 families have deeper lore with either TS1 or TS2. For example, the history of the Specter family spans several games. This is due to TS3 originally being a prequel where nearly every Sim was younger. However, as more DLC was released, the timeline jumped around to various points where players could even find two versions of Bella Goth on different maps. If brought to TS4, EA would need to lock down Sim life states and make some adjustments.
10 Wanna Bes Of Moonlight Falls
Naturally, Not Super
The town of Moonlight Falls is filled with all kinds of supernatural residents. However, The Wanna Bes met at a convention despite most of them not possessing powers. Haley Sumari dreams of being a fairy and is writing a book that she hopes will attract a king. Malcom Harris thinks he is a vampire and has managed to befriend some of the real ones. Alice Fitzgerald uses the air of mystery to further her criminal plans, blaming fate and magic for any lost items.
The final roommate, Deedee Wynn is actually a witch, an early version of a spellcaster from Realm of Magic, one of The Sims 4‘s supernatural expansions. However, she keeps this on the low down in public and only aspires to be a great cook. But, her culinary skills begin low and will likely only cause fires.
9 The Roomies Of Sunset Valley
Five’s A Party
The Roomies consist of five adult Sims brought together to save money. The large apartment is technically owned by Stiles McGraw, a plain and unassuming guitarist. His mates include Tamara Donner, a party girl trying to turn a new leaf as a politician. There is also Emma Hatch, a tough woman who eases in with others through her expert cooking.
Next is Cycl0n3 Sw0rd, an elusive hacker who never reveals his real name. Finally, there is Blair Wainwright, a childish police officer. Her rich parents also live in Sunset Valley, and are just a phone call away. A small Easter Egg is that Blair and Cycl0n3 have already shared their first kiss, but have no romantic history.
8 The Lums From The Family Bin
The Infinite Possibilities
The Family Bin exists to populate worlds with extra Sims and has no direct attachment to one place in TS3. Among them is the Lum family, consisting of parents Theodore and Lilly with their teen son Lawrence. Lilly is the bread winner while Theodore is meek; it is up to Lawrence to decide which parent he takes after or choose his own path.
The best part of the Lums is the freedom to fit them anywhere. I personally made them allies of the Bagleys of in Riverview, but they would make a great scenario based family in TS4. This would match with the Martinez house, who were also originally from The Family Bin.
7 The Bayless Of Twinbrook
Unreliable And Illegible Narrators
The Bayless family name has never been consistent, sometimes being written as “Bayliss” and “Baylies.” The current heads of house are Skeet and Gwayne, along with their children Chase and Tay. Their secluded home is eccentric, with green fatigue patterns everywhere and a garage door in their kitchen.
Most of the family records are from prison, with “anyone who has ever tried to track it down has only been led in circles,” according to in-game TS3 text. This probably just means none of the Bayless’ wrote down their history. However, some The Sims YouTubers like Pleasant Sims have speculated that they could be inbred. TS4 would probably cut out this idea or make them all science babies.
6 The Abe Sisters Of Barnacle Bay
Chaperoning Your Older Sibling
Patty Abe had a problem with partying too hard and was sent off by her parents to Barnacle Bay. They insisted her younger sister, Serena, come along and act more responsibly. While this may work for a time, Serena will soon find her own wild side living in a pirate-themed world.
The Abes fit well into the celebrity system in TS3: Late Night. While the packaged world is Bridgeport, many Sims are retroactively given celebrity status. This version can even be more restrictive than features in TS4: Get Famous.
5 Davis-Welles, Supine, And Dandy Of Roaring Heights
Faithfully Sleeping With Others
Mark and Rita Davis-Welles are inspired by a real-life 1920s openly bisexual couple, Harold Nicolson and Vita Sackville-West. They stayed married for almost 50 years, birthed two sons, but also had extramarital affairs. Two of their most notable lovers also have TS3 spoofs: Virginia Supine, a parody of Virginia Woolf, and Michael Dandy, a combination of Raymond Moritmer mixed with the fictional Jay Gatsby.
Romance was much more restrictive in TS3, with Mark and Rita often becoming jealous of each other and automatically divorcing. Their inclusion would have been perfect for TS4: Lovestruck, where it’s easy to set romantic boundaries. That way they would be totally fine with the other partner getting involved with Virginia and Michael.
4 The Mangos Of Aurora Skies, Sunlit Tides, And Isla Paradiso
Separated By Continents
The Mangos are three cousins living in different TS3 worlds. Maru Mango is the most eccentric, found in Sunlit Tides living on a street with his very surname. He unexpectedly joined the military, which pleased his cousin Magnus, who is a fighter pilot living in Aurora Skies. Matthew is the most reclusive of the three, hiding away from “deadly” gnomes and getting by on his fishing skills.

How To Build And Use A Cemetery In The Sims 4: Life & Death
Cemeteries are a new lot for The Sims 4: Life & Death. They are great for hosting funerals, honoring the dead, and visiting every so often.
Cousins aren’t fully recognized in TS4 family trees. While it is possible to label cousins in the back end, the Sims would treat each other like strangers. To make the relationships work, the Mangos would also need parent Sims, possibly already deceased. This isn’t much of an issue with TS4: Life & Death expansion pack, where ghosts are common place.
3 Claire Ursine And The Frio Brothers Of Sunset Valley
Deadbeat Baby Daddy And Random Genetics
These households are technically two neighboring families that are intertwined in the TS3. Claire Ursine just broke up with her boyfriend, the hotheaded Jared Frio. Little do either know that Claire is pregnant and soon to give birth. Meanwhile, Jared’s younger brother Connor just wants to keep the peace and get back to his book.
Because the baby isn’t born at the start of TS3, their genetics can be any mix of Ursine or Jared, or plucked from their hidden grandparents for looks and traits. For TS4, they would likely need to make this child a premade toddler with specific traits.
2 Big Bling Of Bridgeport
Large Egos In A Larger Pad
Tom Wordy was raised on the streets of Twinbrook and became one of the biggest music moguls in TS3: Late Night, but don’t tell anyone he secretly loves kid’s music more than rap. Tom has built a loyal entourage that lives in his mansion. Athlete Big Hartley has been Tom’s friend for a long time, but wants to leave the latter’s shadow. Sugar Bijou has Tom in her grasp, but Big wants her out of the house and their lives. Finally, Lil Bling is a teen piano prodigy; if he can manage to grow up, Lil just knows he’ll be the next big star.
Besides the family members, the Big Bling house is one of the most impressive in TS3. It has a full music studio, fast cars, and even an elevator. Being invited to live there – or just flat out stealing the home via Edit Town – is always a goal to work towards.
1 The GilsCarbo Families Of Monte Vista And Barnacle Bay
A Reoccurring The Sims Series Family
Eduardo and Carlotta GilsCarbo are raising their toddler son Goopy in the rustic Italian-inspired Monte Vista. Goopy already loves cowboy fashion and will one day grow up to be among the most notorious residents of Pleasantview in TS2. During the second game, Goopy is looking for romance, and it is implied he woos Alice and fathers Celeste. But, the marriage doesn’t last – Alice takes their daughter, but keeps the last name, and whisks Celeste away to Barnacle Bay.
To account for the time jump, there will need to be some readjustments to make them all one family in The Sims 4. Eduardo and Carlotta could be elders, while Goopy and Alice are young adults, and finally, Celeste as a child or toddler. This would be perfect with the expanded family dynamics and other features included with the Growing Together expansion pack.
